    OREGON 4-WAY CHAMPIONSHIPS

    Mt. Hood Race Team
    and Mt. Hood Ski Education Foundation invite you to the 44th Annual Oregon 4-Way Championships, February 3rd through 5th, 2012. Events will include Classic Cross Country and Jumping on Friday, Giant Slalom on Saturday, and Slalom on Sunday.

    PRELIMINARY EVENT INFORMATION

    ELIGIBILITY & CLASSES: The championship event is open to J5 competitors (ages 9 & 10), J4 competitors (ages 11 & 12), and J3 competitors (age 13 only). Age is determined as of December 31, 2011. The SL on Sunday is also open to J6 competitors (ages 7 & 8).

    To enter by mail, use the Entry form provided on the web site and mail along with the entry fee check and Release form to the address above by the entry deadline, individual email entries will not be accepted.

    4-Way Entry* (XC, Jump, SL, GS) – $80.00
    *Must register for all events to be eligible for the Skimeister Award.

    Alpine Entry only (SL & GS) – $60.00 J6 Entry (1-run SL) – Sunday: $25.00 

    ENTRY DEADLINE: Completed entry forms, entry fees, and liability release must be received by 12:00noon, Wednesday, February 1st. Absolutely, no entries will be accepted by phone or on the day of the race. A List of Competitors will be posted on the Internet Wednesday night. Please verify receipt of your entry at this web page. Total race field will be limited to 200 competitors.

    CUTTING the FIELD: The Oregon 4-Way Championship attracts many young racers from around the Northwest. The race field will not exceed 200 total boys and girls. If the field must be cut the following procedure will be used: First, any racer without a complete and paid entry will be cut; second, racers from teams outside Oregon will be cut - youngest racers to oldest racers. Racers cut from the event will have their entry fee check destroyed or PayPal account refunded.

    CANCELLATION: Racers who wish to cancel their entry must do so by 6:00pm on Thursday, February 2nd. There will be no refunds after Thursday.

    RACER BIBS: Bibs will be issued by team Friday and Saturday morning at Race Registration. On Friday, competitors will use the same bib for both Nordic events, and return bibs after the Jumping competition to the Multorpor Lodge. Bibs will be re-issued on Saturday morning and competitors will keep their bibs for Sunday’s race. J6 competitiors will be issued bibs on Sunday at Registration. Competitors will return bibs to the scoreboard at the completion of Sunday’s SL event. Racers will be charged $50 for missing bibs and/or not allowed to compete in the next competition.

    REGISTRATION: Friday - Multorpor Lodge 9:00 am – 10:00 am
    Saturday - Outback Lodge (Skibowl West) 7:00 am – 8:30 am

    Sunday - Multorpor Lodge 7:30 am – 8:30 am

    RACE LOCATIONS: The Classic Cross Country and Jumping events will be held at Skibowl East (Multorpor). The Giant Slalom race will be held on Reynolds Run at Skibowl West. Sunday's Slalom event will be held on the Cascade Chair, again at Skibowl East (Multorpor).

    LIFT TICKETS: Racer lift tickets are $26.00 and must be purchased each day. On Friday and Sunday, tickets are purchased at the Multorpor ticket booth in the parking lot. All racer tickets on Saturday will be purchased at the Skibowl West ticket windows behind the Skibowl Lodge.

    AWARDS: A wards for Saturday's race. Awards for SL and the Skimeister Award will presented after Sunday's race. The Skimeister Award will be given to the boy and girl in each age class, J3, J4 & J5, with the best all-around performance from all 4 events. Time and location tba.

    RACE ELIGIBILITY & ENTRIES: Only PNSA J3 age athletes are eligible to compete (yob ’97 & ’98). Entry fees are $38 per race. The total event entry is $152. Athletes must have a current USSA Competitor License.

    Registration and payment for the event is available here or send the registration form and entry fee check to the address below. Athletes who are not competing in all races need to mail their entry fee. Individual entries and team entries may be U.S. mailed or faxed. Emailed entries will NOT be accepted. All athletes must submit a Skibowl Release to the contact below if they do not have a 2012 release on file with MHSEF.

    ENTRY DEADLINE: Entries must be received by 12:00 noon Wednesday February 15th. A list of competitors will be posted at here by 9:00pm on Wednesday, February 15th. All corrections and cancellations must be sent to raceadmin@mhsef.org by the end of the day Thursday February 16th. No entries will be accepted on day of the race.

    TC MEETINGS:

    RACE HQ: Race Headquarters will be located in the Outback Lodge at Skibowl West from 7:00am –8:15am each morning. Pick up start lists, results and any unclaimed awards at Race Headquarters during these hours.

    LIFT TICKETS: Lift tickets are $40.00 each day at the Skibowl West ticket office. Only coaches who are on the PNSA coaches list may pick up tickets at the TC meetings. PNSA Elite Passes will be honored and will be issued daily at the ticket windows.

    RACER BIBS: Bibs will be issued at Friday's TC meeting for Saturday’s GS race. Racers will turn in bibs at the scoreboard after the race. Bibs will be re-issued at the TC meeting Sunday morning for all SG races. Again, turn in bibs at the scoreboard upon completion of Monday’s final SG race. Racers will be charged $50.00 for missing bibs.

    AWARDS: Presented to the first 5 places for each race. Ceremony will be outside the Outback Lodge approximately 30 minutes following the end of each day or racing.
